The selected movies will be screened from November 25th to December 7th 2021 at the Embassy of India in RIyadh.

En el marco de los eventos conmemorativos del 200 Aniversario de la Independencia de México, y por invitación del Presidente de México, Lic. Andrés Manuel López Obrador, una delegación cultural de Arabia Saudita visitó México los días 25, 26 y 27 de septiembre del presente en el Complejo Cultural los Pinos.

The first-ever cultural festival highlighting gender equality in Saudi Arabia has launched in Riyadh with the screening of a movie by a female director. Organized by the Embassy of Mexico and Mexican movie theater chain Cinépolis Gulf, in collaboration with the embassies of Argentina, Spain and Uruguay, the “Ibero-American Film Festival” kicked off on Wednesday.
The event was attended by the Mexican Ambassador Aníbal Gómez-Toledo, Argentine Ambassador Marcelo Gilardoni, Spanish Ambassador Álvaro Iranzo and Uruguayan Ambassador Nelson Yemil Chabén,

The colors of Mexico in Saudi Arabia

As a result of efforts made by the Embassy, for the second consecutive year since the Embassy was opened in this country, the emblematic ‘Kingdom Center’ building, located in the center of Riyadh, was illuminated with the colors of the Mexican flag, in occasion of the CCXI Anniversary of our independence and in honor of the Mexican community in Saudi Arabia.
The activity was par of the agenda carried out in September, that also coincide with the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mexico and Saudi Arabia (12 Sep) and with the commemoration of the Saudi National Day (23 Sep).

‘Threads/Hilos’ Textile Exhibition

The exhibition was presented at the ‘Ahlam Studio’ art gallery in Riyadh on 8/sep/2021. The aim of the exhibition was creating an approach to the similarities between the cultures and traditions of Mexico and Saudi Arabia through their textile art, in line with the ‘conversation between cultures’ concept promoted by the Unity of Cultural Affairs of the Chancellery.
During the launching event, Ambassador Gómez Toledo stressed that the activity “aims to establish a dialogue that contributes to a better mutual understanding of our societies and to discover the common historical and cultural terrain that we share.”
