What to Expect?

The International Community at UNESCO declared the Day of the Acapulco-Manila Galleon as the 8 October of every year, to conmemorate the relevance of this trans-oceanic route in the connectivity between Asia, America and Europe, between the 16th and the 19th Centuries. Human links and a shared centurian heritage are the result of these intensive exchanges of precious items, goods and crops between our peoples.

As part of the Manilla Galleon route, the Mexico’s Isthmus, a region that connects the Pacific Ocean with the Atlantic Ocean, has been the passage of routes, travelers, thinkers, diplomats and artists, who made their way through with multiple expressions inspired in the Isthmus, its people, its traditions and its landscapes.

The virtual exhibition offers a first-person experience into the wide range of expressions around the Isthmus. The audience can enjoy stories, poetry, photography, lithographs, historical portraits and cartography of endless artists, women and men from all over the world, with the supporf of different museum collections in Mexico.
